

Virginia Ruth Howell was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Saviour on December 18, 2021. Virginia was raised in Ithaca and Elmira, New York, She gave her life to Jesus during nursing school and after graduating from Bible College she married Earl Howell on June 17th , 1950 and left for Utila, Honduras as missionaries. In 1960 they went to Puerto Cortes, Honduras serving as missionaries where they served for 25 years before returning to the Island of Utila where they continued their work until 2016.
Virginia was affectionately known in Honduras as Dona Virginia and on the Island as Ginny. She had a passion for children and taught Sunday school classes and other activities with children during the year. She also led Bible studies for women in the churches and served the poor and needy providing medical care and supplies. She loved cooking, baking and was known for her coconut bread, chicken and dumplings and her conch chowder. Her hobby was reading and traveling and she had the opportunity to visit Europe and Israel which was a special place for her. Virginia loved God above all things, her family, friends and her ministry in Honduras. Virginia is survived by her children, Edward, Bruce, Kate, Benjamin, her grandchildren, Ben, Rachel, Jonathan, Zach, Sara, Levi and Randy and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Virginia Howell will be at the Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home located at 27100 Old Dixie Hwy, Naranja, Florida on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 12 pm until 2pm and the Funeral Service will be the same day at 2:30 pm.
