Al was born on December 7, 1936 in Woburn, MA. He graduated from Woburn High School, served in the U.S. Air Force and was an Air Traffic Controller at the FAA Center in Nashua, NH until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, Red Sox and Patriots games. Al treasured his Irish ancestry, traveling nine times to Ireland. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Cavanaugh) O’Donnell.
Besides his wife, survivors include three sons, Michael and his wife Maria, Albert John Jr. and his wife Sheila and Shawn T. O’Donnell.
Al was the proud grandfather of Tara Shannon, Albert John III, Michael Patrick Jr., Brianna Elaine and Shannon Maria. He was the brother of Dolly Gilbertson, Maura Doyle, Roberta Landau, Irish Browning, Martha Horn and Robert O’Donnell.
