

Claire attended and graduated from St. Francis Xavier’s Academy in 1950, Rivier College in 1955, and Brown University in 1960. She lived in North Providence until 1972, and then she moved to Nashua, New Hampshire where she began her career as a Medical Technologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital until her retirement in 2000.
She is survived by her husband Donald Long; three daughters from her first marriage, Louise J. Waugh and husband Robert van der Heide; Joan Waugh-Crotzer and her husband David; Bobbi Jackson and her husband James; step-children Wendy Cabral, Diana Gravel, Carol Ralston, Debbie Ralston, Heidi Ordway and her husband David, Kurt Ralston and his wife Renee, Barbara Elingwood, Janet Hardy, and Stephanie Long; her grandchildren Dean Jackson, Ben Rae, Nicole Ordway, Sean Ordway, Nicholas Ralston, and Emily Ralston; her special friend Linda Kinville and her husband James, whom she thought of as a daughter. A great lover of animals, especially cats, she also leaves behind Wisdom, Berry and Martha Long, Sparky Waugh, Joanie and Vickie Waugh-Crotzer, and Lucky Jackson. She is predeceased her first husband Albert Waugh in 1980, and her second husband Herbert Ralston in 2011.
A visitation will be held on Monday February 28, 2022 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home located at 26 Kinsley St, Nashua NH, with a Funeral Mass following at 11:00am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church located at 777 W Hollis St, Nashua, NH. Burial to immediately follow at St. Louis Cemetery located at 752 W Hollis St, Nashua, NH.
