Donald McLeod McPhie Jr

Donald M. McPhie Jr. 84, of Nashua died December 28, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Brighton, MA after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 3, 1926 in Montreal, PQ Canada, the son of Donald M. and Hilda (Moorhead) McPhie Sr.

Donald was educated in Canada and has been a resident of the Gate City since 1961. He was employed as a supervisor at the Impco Company with 35 years of service. He was an expert handyman and an accomplished woodworker. He also enjoyed the outdoors especially camping with his family at Kennebunk, Maine and Gratten Lake, Quebec.

He was married to Helen Markiewicz on May 20, 1961. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Family members in addition to his wife include his son Donald S. McPhie and his wife Beth McCarthy of Nashua, his daughter Donna McPhie and her husband Michael Fitzgerald of Waltham, MA, a granddaughter Heather McPhie of Nashua, two brothers Ian McPhie and his wife Francoise and Alexander McPhie and his wife Margaret all of Montreal, and a sister Irene Ferrier of Toronto.

Calling hours were held at the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home 26 Kinsley St. Nashua, NH on Monday January 3, 2011 from 11AM to 1PM. A funeral service immediately followed in the funeral home chapel. Burial was at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Nashua, NH.
