

Edward was born in Lawrence MA to Martin and Esther (Lundquist) O’Sullivan. He grew up in Lawrence MA and Salem NH. He served in the US Navy as a Medical Corpsman during the Korean War era. He was proud of his service aboard the USS Bennington and his membership in the Brotherhood of the Golden Shellbacks. Ed attended Plymouth Teachers College on the GI Bill and went on to receive a Master’s Degree from Ohio State University.
Ed worked for more than 25 years as a Guidance Counselor supporting countless students in the Concord School District. After his retirement Ed went on to work for FEMA as a Community Relations Specialist supporting communities struck by natural disasters.
Ed’s favorite role in life was as a father and grandfather. He was affectionately known as Grampa O’ to family and friends.
He enjoyed family get togethers, good conversation with good friends, good food, a round of golf, a good book, and classical music along with a good cigar and a “wee touch” of Tullamore Dew.
Ed was a lifelong learner, avid reader, poet, writer and active member of his community. While raising his family in Bow and Concord NH, Ed was a volunteer with the NH Mediation program for many years. Ed retired to Zephyrhills Florida and was known for putting together musical events and writing articles for the senior newspaper including a series highlighting the local WWII veterans and their stories.
Ed is survived by his children, Megan (Michael) Todd and Andrew O’Sullivan; grandchildren Daniel (Emily), Molly (Dillon) , Vose and Flynn; great grandchildren Martin and Sylvia; and brother Mark. He is predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Kathleen; 2nd wife June; his children Edward Jr. and Mollyann; his daughter-in-law Jenifer and his brothers George and Martin.
Edward’s final resting place with be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen NH. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
