Elizabeth Ann Dutton

Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Dutton of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023. Betty was born on Valentine’s Day in 1945, and she always said this made her “a real sweetheart”. She was born to her parents George J. Dumais and Ruth R. Kurtz.

She married her first husband right after graduating high school and they had two children together within two years. She raised her children and took great pride in the fact that she they were well behaved happy children that she thoroughly enjoyed. Later in life, after the divorce from her first husband Betty began to work at Ohmite Manufacturing in Hudson, NH to support her family. After many years of working there, she began working at Dave’s Dry Cleaners and Coronis Dry Cleaners before deciding to retire early to care for her grandchildren.

Betty married the love of her life Roland “Pete” A. Dutton in 1997. Pete was her rock and a very important part of her life. Together they had a beloved pet Yorkie named Shadow, and Betty spoiled him with everything. Betty enjoyed spending time with family, and some of her favorite moments were with her grandchildren. She would have sleepovers with all five grandchildren and even their pets. Betty enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, and all crafts. She was known for her beautiful crocheting and she would always make something for everyone.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Roland A Dutton; daughter Carol Higgins; daughter Joan Barrows and her husband Leo Barrows; grandchildren Timothy Davis, Jonathan Davis and his spouse April Davis, Kevin Higgins, Adam Higgins, Tricia Shea and her spouse Justin Shea; great grandchildren Kaylee Shea, Savannah Shea, Angeline Davis, Emily Davis, Avaleigh Higgins, John Grafton, Rosa Leigh Higgins and Melanie Higgins; siblings Jacquilin Callahan, George Dumais and his spouse Debbie Dumais, Barbara Therrian and her spouse Conrad Therrian, Donna LaPorte and her spouse Clarence LaPorte, Joanne Lynch, Helen Mullaney and her spouse Robert Mullaney.

She is predeceased by her parents George J. Dumais and Ruth R. Dumais (Kurtz); sister Mary Jane Kitridge; brother James Dumais; and brother Richard Dumais.

A visitation will be held on Friday April 21st from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with a service to follow at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, located at 26 Kinsley Street Nashua, NH 03060. A burial will immediately follow at Edgewood Cemetery, located at 107 Amherst Street Nashua, NH 03064.
