

Karl M. Rasmussen, 63 of Amherst, NH passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH surrounded by his loving family following a brave and lengthy battle with cancer. He was born January 1, 1951 in Portsmouth, NH, son of Mary (Sworobowicz) Rasmussen and the late Arnold Rasmussen. He was raised in Hampton Falls and attended Winnacunnet High School.
Karl worked as a Feeder Driver for UPS for 29 years. He also was an owner/operator of his own landscaping business, K&R All Seasons Service for 30 years. Karl enjoyed boating and deep sea fishing as well as his trips to Mohegan Sun.
He is survived by his wife; Dottie (Millina) Rasmussen of Amherst, a son; Jeffrey Rasmussen of Derry, a daughter; Jill Burke of Raymond, NH, a step-daughter; Stephanie Lofton and her husband Lonnie of Nashua, a step-son; Benjamin Millina of Amherst, a sister; Joanne Dutton and her husband Charles of Rochester, NH, his mother; Mary Rasmussen of Amherst and also by seven grandchildren; David and Matthew Burke, Maddox Brown, Jedrick and Janessa Lofton and Nathaniel and Hunter Millina and a great-granddaughter; Bryella Lofton. He is also survived by two nephews; Tom Dutton of New Boston, NH and Timothy Dutton of Northwood, NH. He was predeceased by his father; Arnold Rasmussen in 1997.
Visiting hours were held Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. Navy honors concluded the calling hours at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 for Sarcoma research or to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054. The family would like to thank Dr. Hakimian and the oncology nurses at Southern NH Medical Center as well as all those at the Community Hospice House.
