

Loretta P. (Marcoux) Vaillancourt, 95, of Nashua, NH passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare in Nashua. She was born in Nashua on May 27, 1917, the daughter of the late Albert and Eva (Lavoie) Marcoux.
Loretta attended the Nashua School System. After graduating she continued her education at St. Joseph School of Nursing, earning a Bachelor’s Degree as a Registered Nurse. She married her husband, Adrien in 1944 and together they raised two boys until his passing in 1964. She worked as an RN for St. Joseph Hospital and various doctors’s until she found her calling at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare. Loretta was employed there until her retirement in 1985. Some of the nurses and staff that cared for Loretta during her stay there were taught and trained by her. She enjoyed needle work, sewing, crocheting, embroidering, and was a great cook. Loretta will be best remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She is predeceased by her husband, Adrien Vaillancourt in 1964; a son, Gerard Vaillancourt in 1986; three brothers, Lionel, Conrad and Daniel Marcoux, and a sister, Yolande Flynn.
She is survived by a son, Daniel Vaillancourt and his wife Virginia of Clarksville, TN; a sister, Stella Marcoux of Nashua; four grandchildren, Michelle, Cheryl, Nicole and Amanda; four great grandchildren, Emily, Patrick, Jacob and Tanner; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours were held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 4 PM to 8 PM at St. Laurent Funeral Home, 116 Elm Street, Nashua, NH 03060. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 9:30 AM at Blessed John XXIII at Infant Jesus in Nashua. Burial followed at St. Louis Cemetery in Nashua.
