Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Aynsley Place, Nashua, New Hampshire. She was
predeceased by her father, Thomas; her mother, Regina(Brown); her beloved
brothers Sgt. John J. Ennis and MSG. William J. Ennis along with her very “bestest”
friend of 65 years, Lily Psztur. Margaret is also survived by many Nieces and
Nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Margaret was born in Elm Park on July 22, 1923 and moved to New Brighton in 1934.
She graduated from St. Peter’s Girls High School in 1942 and attended the John Street School of
Insurance. Upon graduation, she spent 41 years as an insurance underwriter for
the Hartford Insurance Company until her retirement in 1983. As an active
communicant of St. Peter’s RC Church for the past 75 years, Margaret was a
former member of the Alter and Rosary Society, Legion of Mary, and often served
as usherette at the 12:00PM Sunday Mass. She also enjoyed lecturing and
volunteering as an alter server whenever needed. Margaret was also a member
of the West Brighton Chapter of AARP, the North Shore Chapter of the Ladies of
Charity, the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Forever Young Senior
Center.
Margaret loved to listen to oldies music, reading, walking along the
Terrace and listening to her Irish songs. Above all, perhaps her fondest love was
for traveling the world to such faraway places as the Holy Land, England, Scotland,
Wales, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Alaska, Israel, Bermuda,
Hawaii, and, of course, her monthly trips to Atlantic City. Margaret was known
for her wit and wonderful sense of humor. She was loved by all who met her and
will fondly be remembered as the “life of the party”.
Visitation and celebration of Margaret’s life will take place on Thursday, May 18,
2017 from 3:00-7:00PM at Harmon Funeral Home. A Catholic Funeral Mass will
be held on Friday, May 19,2017 at 11:00AM at St. Peter’s RC Church. Interment
will follow immediately in St. Peter’s Cemetery. The Ennis Family would like to
gratefully acknowledge and thank the wonderful and caring staff of Home Health
& Hospice Care of Merrimack, N. H. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to
Home Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, N. H. would be
greatly appreciated.
Arrangements under the direction of Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, Nashua, NH.
