
Margaret Sammie Morrison, 84 passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Glencliff Home in Glencliff, NH. She was born May 9, 1928 in Bristol, NH, daughter of the late William F. and Mary (Clay) Blythe.
Mrs. Morrison graduated from Plymouth State cum laude, Class of 1972 and worked for many years as a teacher. She taught 7th and 8th grade in the Farmington School System and also taught when she moved to Florida. She returned to New Hampshire in 2001. Mrs. Morrison was a voracious reader, especially historical fiction. She had been a Cub Scout den mother, a member of the Federated Church in Bristol, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, doing cross stitch, knitting sweaters and playing the organ.
She is survived by two sons; Blythe Morrison and his wife Jane of Dover, NH and Andrew “Andy” Morrison and his companion Elizabeth Cochran of Colorado, a daughter; Mary Yannetti and her husband Michael of Nashua, NH, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband; Charles C. Morrison, Jr. in 1999 and by a son; William “Willie” Morrison.
Following cremation graveside services will be held in the Homeland Cemetery in Bristol, NH in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001. The Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua is assisting the family with the arrangements.
