

Mary E. Freelove, 65, of Milford passed away on October 9, 2011 at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 8, 1946 in Cambridge, MA the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Driscoll) Barker. She was educated in the Everett School System and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. She was also a graduate of Bunker Community College and the Youville School of Nursing. Mary was employed as a registered nurse and worked for many years at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua and also at New England Rehabilitation Center also located in Nashua.
Mary was an avid gardener who was gifted with a green thumb. She was also a yoga enthusiast. She loved helping others and volunteered many hours at the Nashua Soup Kitchen and in the Religious Education Department at St. Patrick Church in Milford.
She and her husband of 45 years, Vincent Freelove Sr., lived many years in Massachusetts before relocating to Nashua in 2002 and then to Milford in 2009.
Members of her family in addition to her husband include her two sons Vincent Freelove Jr. and his wife Melissa of Tyngsboro, MA and Joseph Freelove and his wife Bridget of Milford, NH, her three daughters Laurine Boever and her husband Kenneth of Dracut, MA, Diane Maltais and her husband Kenneth of Billerica, MA and Lynda Cioffi and her husband Kevin of Wilmot, NH, 14 grandchildren, two brothers Robert Barker and Paul Barker and four sisters Kathleen Newhall, Janice Brady, Eileen Pflanz and Donna Barker. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Barker.
Calling hours were held on Thursday October 13, 2011 from 3 to 8PM at the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home 26 Kinsley St. Nashua, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday October 14, 2011 at 10AM in St. Christopher Church 62 Manchester St. Nashua, NH. Interment followed in Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua, NH. The family requests that donations be made in Mary’s name to the Beth Israel Deaconess Renal Cell Research Center 330 Brookline Ave Boston, MA 02215 or to the Kidney Cancer Research Fund 375 Longwood Ave Masco Building Suite 401C Boston, MA 02215
