

Rachel was born in Rochester on August 30, 1944, the daughter of Eugene and Bertha Dubois. Rachel lived in Rochester for most of her life.
On July 14, 1962, Rachel married her husband, Ronald Hamel. They were fortunate to have 47 wonderful years traveling the world together before he passed in 2010. They had one daughter, Robin, in 1963. Rachel worked at Brock's Plywood in Rochester for many years before retiring. After retiring, she spent most of the year in Venice, FL, and summers at her daughter's house in New Durham.
She enjoyed many things over the years, including: reading, crossword puzzles, ceramic painting, card games, jigsaw puzzles, country line dancing, traveling, swimming, going for walks, shopping and spending time with friends and family.
Rachel's legacy of humor, silliness, spontaneous dancing, and singing will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
She leaves behind her daughter, Robin (Hamel) Stuart and her husband, David; three grandchildren, Lorin, Kristopher and Forrest; her loving partner, Leon Drouin; her brother, Paul Dubois and his wife, Mary: her brother, Leo Dubois; her sister, Diane Vashey; extended family and friends.
Predeceased by her husband, Ronald Hamel; her brother, Robert Dubois.
Rachel did not want a service. A family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
