

Stanley Chmielecki, Jr., 68, of Nashua, NH passed away Friday, May 08, 2015 at his home following a courageous three year battle with cancer. He was born April 29, 1947 in Lawrence, MA, a son of Stella (Torla) Chmielecki and the late Stanley Chmielecki, Sr.
Stan worked as a hardware engineer for many years, and absolutely loved his job. He worked for Sanders & Associates, Digital Equipment Corp, Standard Microsystems Corp., Acacia Networks, Nortel Networks, Aastra Telecom and finally for Mercury Computer Systems. Stan loved the outdoors, hiking, camping and was a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He was a patient man, a mentor, generous, selfless and often a “father figure” for many who didn’t have a father figure in their life. He participated for many years as a loving foster parent. Stan was also an athletic, strong man into fitness, running, biking and swimming. He was a man who could do anything and loved building things with his hands, from a robot to dunebuggys and so much more.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 41 years; Lauren (Poor) Chmielecki of Nashua, two sons; Michael P. Chmielecki and his wife Jennifer of Manchester, NH and Jeremy C. Chmielecki of Nashua, his granddaughter; Alice Chmielecki, his mother; Stella Chmielecki of Nashua, three brothers; Frank Chmielecki and his wife Patty of Gilmanton, NH, Charles Chmielecki and his wife Elaine of Brookline, NH and George Chmielecki and his wife Mary of Mansfield, MA and a sister; Laura Chmielecki of Nashua. He is also survived by his mother and father in law; Chris and Helen Costaras of Nashua, three sisters in law; Catherine Lodato of Barrington, NH, Leslie Jasper of Nashua and Alicia Connolly and her husband Ed of Canterbury, NH, a brother in law; Brian Poor of Albuquerque, NM and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and foster children. He was predeceased by his father in 2009 and by his brother; John Chmielecki.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00am in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 216 E. Dunstable Rd., Nashua. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 for Sarcoma research.
