Therese Sbat Dunklee, 87, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 10, 1933 in Tripoli, Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Rahmee (Hadeed) Gerjes.

Therese spent her early years growing up in Tripoli, Lebanon. She attended college and graduated with a B.A. in linguistics from The Sorbonne, University of Paris. In 1966, she moved to Nashua with her husband Fouad Sbat and their children. Therese was a loving and selfless Mother to her children and the most wonderful Tita to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Therese’s home was always open to everyone and there was an abundance of her delicious Lebanese food for all! She had an amazing ability to make each person she came in contact with feel very special and loved. Family and friends spent summers on her porch and long winters in her warm dining room; there were endless conversations over coffee, fabulous stories and so much laughter...Therese made every holiday or birthday a joyous celebration!

Therese will be deeply missed by her sons Abby Sbat and his wife Cynthia of Deering, NH, Telly Sbat and his wife Rhonda of Manchester, NH, Dr. Kennedy Sbat and his wife Jacqueline of Pottstown, PA; daughters Eman Rootovich and Jeff Piper of Nashua, NH, Idah Snee and her husband Michael of Nashua, NH. She adored and was so proud of her 10 grandchildren; Therese, Joseph, Jon, Tarah, Justin, Michael, Abigail, Jeffrey, Julia and Abbey Marie. She lovingly raised Chris Sbat of Buford, GA and Sue Lemay of Manchester, NH.

Therese is also survived by her brother Joseph Gerjes of Chester, NH; sister Marie Pelletier of Nashua, NH; and will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband Fouad Sbat; husband Charles Dunklee; and beloved sister, Louise Anton. Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Therese may be offered to Home, Health & Hospice Care of Merrimack, NH.

When I growing up Theresa always welcomed me in her home. I have fond memories of sharing meals with all the Sbat's. The memories of times spend with the Sbat's are my most treasured. My deepest condolences.

George and I are so sorry for your loss.
George and I have so many fond memories of sitting at the Trojan kitchen table on Main St. All those yummy desserts and turkish coffee.
Do you remember the Easter celebrations with the lamb cooked outside?
I remember Fred and Theresa when they first came to Nashua. Mary and Walter and Yia Yia and Jim ,Chris and Mike all of us sharing in your parents journey. Truly a blessing.
I remember years later when Theresa married again.
She was such a dynamic and loving person. She built up all whom she met. She could listen so well that you would truly feel her empathy. Her joy was infectious.
She is our son Matthew's godmother.
We hope that she did not suffer much.
We all are better for having been touched by Theresa.
She is now home with her family and probably having a victory celebration together! Love to all of your family.

We were so blessed to have Therese as our neighbor for the past 7 years. She was a wonderful, welcoming person whose door was always open to us. She’ll always be Tita to Mabel and Sylvie and we will miss her very much. Sending our love and comfort to her family.

When we traveled from Erie PA, to see our daughter and her family, you always had your famous Lebanon food for us to eat, you taught us how to cook them. We will remember you forever. May you RIP. We will miss you and your family. Thank you for your 💕 and friendship.

I am so sorry I can't be there with all of you. My long time family across the fence. Therese's home was basically my 2nd home in the 60's and 70's. What a wonderful, loving person Mom was to me. Through the years have so much enjoyed our chit-chats in the yard and around the table enjoying food. I send my deepest sympathies for this gigantic loss to all of you. I, myself, will always have the best memories of "Mom" forever in my heart. I will so very much miss her waves to me from kitchen window. Forever in our hearts. Sincerely, Karin Ann Couronis.
