

Arnold L. “Biggen" Stinson, 93, of Nashville passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023 in I. U. Health, Bloomington Hospital. He was born May 1, 1930 at the family homestead in Kentucky to Onzie Stinson and Lula Hall Stinson. He was retired from the New Castle School Corporation and was the past owner of Stinson & Son’s Tree Service.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Winnie “Dean” Frost Stinson; three sons, David (Melissa Crabtree) Stinson, Lloyd (Debbie) Stinson and Kevin Stinson; a daughter in law, Melissa Stinson; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: a son, Dennis Stinson; a grandson, Matthew Stinson; a brother, Bill Stinson; two sisters, Mary Atkinson and Jewell Williams; and a daughter in law, Lori Stinson.
Biggen was a longtime member of the Belmont Chapel and had been a Board Member as well. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to being a lifetime member of the NRA, he was an avid outdoorsman.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:30 AM in Belmont Chapel, 5579 Lower Schooner Road, Nashville, with Brother Bruce Bond officiating; burial will follow in Duncan Cemetery.
