

Barry Joe East, 65 of Nashville died Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. He was born December 18, 1949 in Loretta, Tennessee to Joe East and Mable Lorene Hamm East. He was retired from Cummins Engines, Inc.
Survivors include two sons, Travis (Erika) East and Jeff (Kimberly) East; a daughter, Amy East; four grandchildren, Owen, Ella, Anna and Rilynn East; his mother, Mable Latham; two brothers, Larry (Geraldine) East and Terry East; and three sisters, Linda (Jack) Jones, Kimberly (Cecil) Cox and Judy Stall. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda East; his father; and a sister, Patricia East.
Memberships include Parkview Church of the Nazarene, the Brown County VFW and the American Legion. He attained the rank of Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving two tours in the 82nd Airborne in Vietnam where he was awarded two Bronze Stars, one with the V device for Valor.
Funeral Services will conducted on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Parkview Church of the Nazarene, 1750 IN 46, with Pastor Stan Loutner Officiating. Entombment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum with Military Honors provided by the Brown County Honor Guard. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday January 20, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, Nashville. If friends so desire, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Brown County Honor Guard, 902 Deer Run Lane, Nashville, IN 47448, to provide services for local veterans.
