Brenda Sue (Rea) Longtin

Brenda Sue Longtin, age 69, of Nashville, Indiana passed away Friday evening, February 21, 2025 at her residence. Born March 29, 1955 in Scottsburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of Gerald and Vicy (Coffey) Rea. Brenda was a graduate of Brown County High School, class of 1973. She worked as a realtor for Re/Max Realty in Nashville. Brenda was an avid reader prior to her illness and enjoyed taking photos as well as tenderly caring for her flower garden. She was a member of Harmony Collective Church.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Jay Longtin, of Nashville, her daughter, Leigh Ann (Chris) Proffitt, of Nashville, her son, James Robert “Buck” (Danielle) Melton, of Columbus, Indiana, her brother, Dale (Stacey) Rea, of North Carolina, her sister, Beverly (Rick) Vasquez, of Brown County and six grandchildren, Peyton Melton, Cayden Melton, Alan Brown, Alex Baker, Zach Proffitt and Erianna Proffitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday, February 26 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville. A graveside Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 27, at1:00 p.m. at New Bellsville Cemetery in Brown County with Pastor Rick Clayton officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to I.U. Health Riley Hospital.
