Brian Michael Barkes

Brian Michael Barkes, 44, of Nashville passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in his home with his family at his side. He was born October 7, 1977 in Columbus to Michael Barkes and Cindy Corbett Barkes. Survivors include his mother, Cindy (Jeffrey) Volkman of Nashville; his father, Michael (Dana) Barkes of Columbus; a brother, Benjamin (Amanda) Barkes of Fishers; a step brother, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Volkman, Jr. of California; a step sister, Candi (Christopher Harford) Volkman of Colorado; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dora Kelly Corbett. Brian was always a happy person, he loved listening to music and as a younger man was a Poster Child for Easter Seals. There will be a Memorial Gathering held at on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville.
