

Clarence (Clyde) Sizemore, 82, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly June 15, 2025 on Father’s Day with his family by his side. Born April 12, 1943 in Manchester, KY at home delivered by his aunt who was a midwife. He was the son of Tommie Sizemore and Hallie (Holland) Sizemore.
Clarence worked in the coal mines from six years old till he was 18 they needed little fingers to fit dynamite into the little places. From 18 on he worked as a block mason until he Suffered a back injury and couldn't walk right anymore.
Clarence married Judith Ann Pope December 11, 1966 and they never spent a day apart since.
Clarence was an avid outdoorsman, fishing and hunting. He made sure there was always food on the table. We all knew not to ask what it was. He loved to joke around and make everyone laugh.
Clarence had a habit of bringing homeless people home, sometimes families, until they got back on their feet.
Clarence was a hero to his family, from standing between a freighted young boy and a 1200 lbs raging bull (who later that day found his way to the freezer) to being there for whatever his loved ones needed.
Clarence is survived by his wife Judith Ann (Pope) Sizemore, six kids James Sizemore (Amy Long) of Morgantown, Donna (Sizemore) Falor (James Falor) of Connersville, Hallie (Sizemore) Koller (Joe Koller) of Morgantown, Andy Sizemore (Jodi Sink), Clyde Sizemore (Rachel Turner) of Nashville, Joe Sizemore (Gracie Brown) of Bloomington, 26 grandkids, 32 great grandkids, so many nieces and nephews that he treated as his own kids you can’t count, and two surviving sisters Katherine (Sizemore) Case and Helen (Sizemore) Leonard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Robert Lee, Willie, Aster, Melvin, Tommy Russell, Arville, and a sister, Nora Mae and a son-in-law Joe Koller.
Clarence will be brought home to 7915 N Oak Ridge Rd, Morgantown, for his two-day wake starting Monday, June 23rd at 1 pm. Everyone is welcomed any hour of the days. His burial will be at 2 pm on Wednesday, June 25th, at Brown County Memorial Park.
