

Floyd R. Petro, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on September 26, 2014 in Nashville, IN. He was born on December 11, 1929 to the late Ira and Bertha(Hampton)Petro and was a lifelong resident of Brown County.
Floyd worked for Cummins for many years as a machinist before retiring in 1987. He married Norma Lucas in 1953in Columbus, IN. She preceded Floyd in death in 2001.
Floyd was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to garden, walk in the woods and hunt mushrooms. He was a US Army veteran.
Floyd is survived by his two loving daughters: Nannette(husband Tom)Cook and Michelle(husband Dale)Hatchett, five grandchildren: Sheena(Chris Kaufman)Cook, Tommy(Mandy)Cook Dakota Hatchett, Matthew Hatchett and Amy Hatchett, two great-grandchildren: Norma Kaufman and Kylene Spall and his brother: Dale Petro.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents: Ira And Bertha Petro, his wife: Norma Petro, his son: Bobby Petro and nine siblings: Ralph, Francis(Les), Morris, Donald, Robert, Marie, Betty, Fay and May.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 10a.m. until time of service at 11:00a.m. in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Rd. 135 North, Nashville, IN 47448. Burial will be in Reeves Cemetery.
