Gary Lee Martin

Gary Lee Martin, age 78, of Ellettsville, Indiana, formerly of Stanford, Indiana passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospice House. Born February 3,1947 in Bloomington, he was the son of Thomas Edward Ashel Martin and Grethel Loraine (Griner) Martin Frye. Gary proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Gary enjoyed knowing a variety of talents and continuously learning new skills. He worked at several professions including shopkeeper, musician, motorcycle mechanic, machinist and concrete finisher after his military service. He enjoyed concrete finishing the most and it demanded an incredible level of precision. Gary was a dreamer and always had an idea how to make something better.

He is survived by 2 daughters Wendy and Rita of Indianapolis, 2 sisters Sandra and Lois and several cousins, including John Griner, of Bloomington.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Allan Frye and Tommy Martin.

Per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service for Gary. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Nashville, Indiana.
