George R. Westcott, of Trafalgar, passed away at home, on Sunday, March 17 surrounded by his loving family. George was born on February 8, 1941 and grew up in Jackson, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Josephine Westcott. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 58 years, Kaye (Pennington) Westcott, two sons he was so proud of, Rich, Rob and his wife Janas, and five grandchildren, Matthew, Justice, Alden, Eliot and Madison. He is also survived by his brother Charles and extended family that meant so much to him, Michael Pennington, Teri and Gary Schultz, Patti Wilson, Kathy and Tom Rimmer, many nieces and nephews and longtime friend and hunting partner Vic Brown. George served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. His service included a tour in Japan aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Ranger. George spent his entire professional career in commercial printing. He retired from the printing industry in 2008 after 40 years, the last 26 of which he spent as president of The Westcott Group, where he worked alongside his partner Robert Sapp and his son Rich. George and Kaye moved to Brown County in 1989. They volunteered for many years at Mother’s Cupboard and are members of the Nashville Christian Church, where George enjoyed worshiping until becoming homebound. George had many hobbies throughout the years. He enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting, fishing, boating, photography, collecting antiques, working with computers, building muzzle loading firearms, and making possible bags from deer hide. The family would like to thank Premier Hospice, especially Jamie King, Jennifer Raymond, and Chaplain Kevin. George was loved and will be missed by many. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31 from 12pm to 2pm at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville and a brief memorial service will follow at 2pm.
