Harold Lee Walls

Harold Lee Walls, 88, passed away on December 24, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Salem Crossing Nursing Home. He was born on April 24, 1937, in Brown County, Indiana. He was raised in Brown County by Charles Walls and Nellie Davis Walls and grew up in Brown County, Tunnelton, and Columbus. He was a longtime resident of Bartholomew County.

Harold married Betty Lucille Petro on December 27, 1957. They spent sixty-seven wonderful years together and had two beautiful daughters, Sherry (Gary) Lovins of Columbus, Indiana, and Marilyn (Tony) Martin of Vallonia, Indiana.

Harold also had five grandchildren whom he adored: Brad (Michelle) Lovins, Mark (Lisa) Carmichael, Kim (Joe) Hardesty, Anthony Martin, and Nichole (Shannon) Sebastian. He was also blessed with several great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Harold worked at the Golden Foundry before becoming self-employed and later spent 35 years driving for High Hill/Shelby Material. He was a hard worker and truly a jack of many trades, always doing whatever he could to provide for his family.

He loved to get off work and come home and get his wife and grandkids and go out driving back roads to reminisce and sight seeing. He took great pride in keeping his vehicles spotless, often washing and wiping them down. He also enjoyed mowing his yard and keeping it looking nice, sitting on the back porch watching the birds and squirrels, and waving to people as they passed by. Harold loved fishing, camping, going to car shows, and being silly with family and friends. He especially enjoyed pulling the kids around in a wagon behind his mower through the years.

Harold was very much loved and cherished by all his family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on December 31, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, located at 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville, Indiana 47448. The funeral service will follow at the same location beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Harold will be laid to rest at Duncan Cemetery in Nashville.
