Lois Jean Bond

Jean Bond, 89, of Brown County died Saturday, July 4, 2015 in Brown County Health and Living Center. She was born January 20, 1926 in Greenwood, Indiana to Ralph Ivan Chitwood and Lillian Lee Peavler Chitwood. Jean was a member of Cottonwood Christian Church. She and her husband, Dale were long time farmers and school bus drivers, Jean transported the Helmsburg area children for 42 years. She also enjoyed gardening and following her son’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.

Survivors include two sons, Bob Bond and his wife Kathy of Fort Wayne and James Bond and his wife Donna of Brown County; three grandchildren, Ryan Bond and his wife Bree, Dorinda Earhart and her husband Tom and Jeb Bond and his wife Angie; six great grandchildren, Charlie, Ben and Wesley Earhart, Alex and Carter Bond and Eli Wilkinson Bond; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dale Bond.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville, with Jeb Bond and Lloyd Wagler officiating. Burial will follow in Brown County Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
