
Passed away December 8, 2010 at her home in Nashville of respiratory failure.
Born March 20, 1943, at St. Frances Hospital, Indianapolis, to Charles A. Black & Gladys H. Lyon Black. Margaret grew up in Selma, Indiana and attended Selma Elementary and graduated from Selma High School in 1961. She married Charles P. Keefe on June 15, 1968 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Indianapolis. She attended Ball State University and graduated from Indiana University in 1988 with a degree in education. She spent 25 years being an educator, she taught at St. Thomas Aquinas in Indianapolis, Helmsburg Elementary in Brown County and Indian Creek Elementary and Intermediate Schools in Trafalgar. She loved teaching and was well remembered by her former students. She enjoyed working in her garden and volunteering at her church. She attended the Salvation Army Church in Nashville and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville for over 20 years. She enjoyed traveling and took a trip to Oregon this summer with her son and his family. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her favorite past time; they were the center of her world.
She is survived by three daughters, Anne-Marie Benson(Harold) of Bloomington, Kathleen M. Worley(Michael Hoff) of Brookville, Erin C. Schultz(Robert) of Nashville, son, Sean P. Keefe(Lisa) of Columbus and former husband and dear friend Charles P. Keefe of Indianapolis. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Megan Foley, Emily Foley and Kathleen Foley of Noblesville, Charlie and Phoebe Schultz of Nashville, Cameron Keefe of Columbus and Stephen Hoff of Brookville. Her surviving siblings are Joe A. Black of Conroe, TX and Jack F. Black of Indianapolis. Her cat, Marley, of 16 years also survives.
Proceeded in death by her parents, brother, James Black of Muncie, last year, and by her beloved cat Maggie.
Services will be held at the Salvation Army Church in Nashville on Saturday, December 18 between 2:00-3:00. Reverend Phil Barrett will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Salvation Army Church, 168 S. Jefferson St., Nashville, IN. 47448
