Patty Josie Bay

Patty Josie Slater Bay, 87, of Columbus passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 in her sister’s home. She was born November 11, 1936 in Martinsville to Jessie Wesley Slater and Thelma Irene Gilbert Slater. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her two children, James (Francis) Barnes and Carolyn Lewis; her sister, Blanche Posey; a brother, Frank Slater; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and other beloved family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Fred Barnes, Jim Fox and Earl Bay; a daughter, Patty Ann Burns; two sons, Willie and Arnold Fox; a sister, Mary Lou Jones; a brother, Joe Slater; a sister in law, Virginia Slater; and a brother in law, Walter Posey.

Patty enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going shopping and out to eat.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM and Burial will follow in Lanam Ridge Cemetery.
