Richard Louis Russell

He was born May 9, 1944 to the late Louis and Fern (Trapp) Russell. Richard married Judy (Percifield) Russell on May 29, 1965 in Seymour, Indiana. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2010.

He was a loving father to Rick Russell of Brown County, Mark Russell of Brown County, Brent and Bandy (Fields) Russell of Brown County and Pam and Tom (Russell) Lanfair of Brown County. He was a doting and loving grandfather to Aaron, Tyler and Dillon Lanfair as well as Bailey and Waylon Russell. He will be remembered by his one brother Dan Russell of Brown County and his many other family members and friends.

Richard served his community for well over 30 years as a volunteer fireman on the Hamblen and Fruitdale Fire Departments. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, collecting model fire trucks, model trains and playing with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will take place on Friday February 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with a one hour visitation prior to service at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 N., Nashville, Indiana. Interment will follow service at the Lanam Ridge Cemetery in Brown County. The family will receive visitors on Thursday February 16, 2017 from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
