

Thomas E. McConnell, 70 of Nashville died Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in his home. He was born May 9, 1946 in Hackensack, New Jersey to William Stanton McConnell and Evelyn Annabelle Stagg McConnell. He was retired from Delphi Electronics in Kokomo.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Terry Lynn Fuhs McConnell of Nashville; a daughter, Laura McGowen and husband Matthew of Nashville; a son, William Richard McConnell and wife Shannon of McLeansville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, June, Mikaela and Eliana Smith, Michael, Landon and Charlie McGowen and Thomas, Remington and Stanton McConnell; a son-in-law, Jeff McKinley and wife Marsha of Kokomo; a sister-in-law, Janus DiBuono; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Larry Pesce of Princeton, New Jersey; and four nieces and nephews, Elaina and Joshua Pesce, Anthony DiBuono and Christina Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jamie Lynn McKinley; and a brother, Vincent DiBuono.
Thomas became an associate pastor after his retirement from Delphi Electronics and served in churches in Virginia, North Carolina and Indiana, this led him to become involved in running a food bank and ministering to the homeless. While living in Nashville, Thomas and Terry attended Heart of Christ Ministries in Gnaw Bone. While working at Delphi he served as a union steward, and was a Quality Work Life Instructor. Other memberships include UAW Local # 292 and the NRA. Thomas was a U. S. Navy Veteran; he also enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, watching I.U. Basketball, Colts Football and spending time with his family.
There will be a gathering of friends and family from 4:00-5:00 PM on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville. Funeral Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday August 14, 2016 in Albright Cemetery, Kokomo, with Pastors Jack Chandler and Tommy Schronce officiating.
