Celebration of Life for Ann Herring Mrs. Anna “Ann” Lawson Herring, 86, of Debary, FL, traded this world for eternity with Christ on Tuesday, January 26, at Halifax Hospice Center in Orange City, Florida. She was surrounded by her family and enveloped in love. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home in Nashville, at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in the Field of Honor. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 pm and Saturday, from 10 am until time of service. Rev. Joel Thomas Herring assisted by Rev. Dr. John Carpenter will be officiating the service. Friends and family will be presenting the celebration music. Born August 1, 1929, in Lyles, TN, Ann was the daughter of the late James and Roma Lawson. She was a cosmetologist by trade, managing the Hair and Beauty Shop at Villa Marie Assisted Living until her retirement. Ann was raised in the southern tradition of making what you have work. Canning, quilting, and sewing were just a few of the skills she brought to her family. Her greatest legacy comes in the love she so graciously lavished on her family. Ann and her late husband of 49 years, Lloyd E. Herring, knitted a legacy of love, hope, grace and promise in Christ throughout their lifetime. Because of this, her family draws comfort and rejoices in the knowledge that Ann is in eternal Glory with her Heavenly Father, whose love is everlasting. Ann is survived by her daughter, Constance Sue “Connie” (Nelse) Patterson, one son: Joel Thomas “Tom” (Joyce) Herring; 4 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Angela Jean Herring, and her sisters: Katherine Thompson and Jean Mayberry. The family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt thoughts, calls, and prayers. God heard those prayers and answered them with divine healing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Pastor Discretionary Fund of Lynnville United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 127, Lynnville, TN 38472. These memorials will be used to support the Halifax Hospice Care Center in Orange City, Florida, and Trezo School in Caye Jacmel, Haiti.
