

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dr. Lee William Stewart, her parents, William T. Taylor Sr. and Marie Jeanne LaPlace, sisters, Edna Mae Taylor and Mary Jewell Robert; and brothers, William T. Taylor, Frank J. Taylor, Robert W. Taylor and Norman J. Taylor. She is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Gene) Nolan; Debbie (Tom) Buck of Chicago; sons, Lee (Esther) William Stewart; Kent ( Betsy) Stewart; Keith (Carol) Stewart; Scott ( Lisa) Stewart; 17 grandchildren, 8 great grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stewart was educated at Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was an Ensign in the United States Navy and was stationed in Long Beach, California and later in Pensacola, Florida, where she met her future husband. She loved her church, her family, cooking and gardening. For many years, she was a volunteer in Pastoral Care at St. Thomas Hospital. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Richland Place for their care.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by the Reverend Peter Do Quang Chau at the Cathedral of the Incarnation on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10:00 in the morning. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
Visitation will be held at Marshall Donnelly Combs from 4:00 – 6:00 on Thursday, December 5.
