Betty Lee Phelps

She was born on May 15, 1943 in Lascassas, TN to the late JB and Marguarite Leslie Peyton. Bettie graduated from Lascassas High School. She married James Thomas Phelps on February 15, 1963 in Nashville TN. Together they had Lisa Marie Burdette and Tommy Phelps.

Bettie was a school bus driver for Metro Nashville Public Schools. She was also a member of Northside Baptist Church. Bettie's passions included gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Bettie is survived by her daughter, Lisa Marie Burdette; son, Tommy Phelps; grandchildren, Hannah Burdette, Bella Burdette, Samantha Phelps, Nikki Nygongi, and Matthew Phelps; siblings, BF Peyton and Carol Davidson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, JB and Marguarite Peyton; siblings, Crary Peyton, Ann Peyton, and David Peyton.

A gathering of family & friends for Betty will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. Following the gathering of family & friends will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
