Almost that time of year that reality comes knocking on my door.  I miss you dearly. You're never forgotten and I loves you.

Daddy Bill, it's been one year since you're passing and I miss you terribly. You'd think a woman being my age would adapt a little better your passing. I have not. I miss your talks, your text messages and emails.  I can hear you say, "now youngen you've grieved long enough for me and you must move on." Guess more  along the lines to put my big girl pants on. The other day i was talking to one of my girls about washing their car. Before I could get my thought out, she said I know wash from the top down as Daddy Bill taught you.  I can honestly say I'd put of my car washing and detail up against anyone. I still laugh at my husband bc he will want to cut corners. Half a$$ you'd say.  I told him if you're going to do, do it the right way.  He laughs at me. I'm the person I am today because you took in a little girl and raised her as your own. There is a song out called step by step by Brandon Davis.l that sings bout just that. Anywho, I love you so.much. it's not goodbye but Cya later.  - Marianne 

Bill was a no nonsense kind of guy.  Being a fixture at the Braxton Household all my tween and teenage years I learned  a multitude of life lessons from Bill.  There is not one time I don't hear Bill's voice when I'm washing my car, "start rinsing from the very top of the car so you are rinsing it and not just moving suds around."

Daddy Bill,
I cannot begin to explain how heart broken I am at this time. There are no words to express what you mean to me and being the dad you didn't have to be. You stepped in to raise me and provided me with such love, a foundation to build my life on  as well as my children.  We may not be related by blood but I know you loved me more than anyone could. You were always there for me. You've only been gone a few days and I miss you so much. Feel as if the breath has been knocked out of me. I know our memories will live on as I share them with anyone who will listen.  Some may forget you now that you're gone but not me. I've found myself crying like a child with each time I read our emails or text messages. Or when I pass a Waffle house. I know you're at peace now. Days will pass and turn into years but I will forever miss and love you, Daddy Bill
