Bobbye Draughon Merville

Bobbye Ruth Draughon Merville, age 93, of Nashville, TN, passed away on July 22, 2024, just one month prior to her 94th birthday on August 22, 2024. Born in Springfield, Tenn., she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nancy Draughon, and her husband, Ronald Bryan Merville, Sr. She was the eldest of 10 children. She graduated from Cohn High School in Nashville, Tenn.

Bobbye was an avid reader and a lifelong lover of history. She was known for her culinary skills and worked as a cook at Dalewood Elementary School within the Metropolitan Nashville School System. Bobbye had a passion for travel, exploring both the United States and international destinations. A dedicated public servant, she volunteered for many years as an election poll worker. She was also a devoted sports fan, particularly enjoying SEC football and basketball, and could often be found courtside at many Vanderbilt University basketball games.

She is survived by her sister, Anita Crabtree, and her children, Ronald Bryan Merville Jr. (LaDonna), Robert Hamilton Merville (Susan), and Melissa Merville (Philip Cheney). Her cherished grandchildren include Ronald Bryan Merville III (Shea), Wesley Merville, Kyle Merville (Gary Fuller), Katherine Cheney, and Madeleine Merville. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Garrett Merville, Anna Clare Merville, Caroline Merville, Ayala Merville, Shira Merville, and Elijah Merville.

She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, Tenn.

She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
