David Gentry Smith

David was born September 1, 1992 in Falticeni, Romania, the beloved son of John and Georganne Smith. After graduating from Family Christian Academy in 2011, he attended Volunteer State Community College.

As a teenager, David, loved sports, playing church softball and high school baseball. He also practiced and excelled at Tae Kwon Do, obtaining his black belt and frequently assisting in teaching and leading classes. David also enjoyed singing and playing guitar whether by himself or for others.

David became a Christian at 11 years of age, at the Lebanon Road Church of Christ, beginning a life-long love of Jesus and His church. David was always quick with a smile and a laugh, and he will be remembered for his loving nature and his desire to help others.

David is survived by his loving parents, John and Georganne, his sister Hailey Ovalle (Juan), nephews Samuel and Jude Ovalle, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins who he dearly loved.

Gathering of family and friends Tuesday August 12, 2025 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Hibbett and Hailey Funeral. Visitation Wednesday August 13, 2025 from 10:00am-11:00am also at Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am in the Chapel at Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home. Burial following Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
