Deborah McCaghren Grimenstein

Deborah McCaghren Grimenstein joined Jesus her Savior in heaven at age 71 on March 26, 2025. Deborah was born to Ruben Ellard McCaghren and Jennie Ruth Eustace McCaghren in Brownsville, Texas, on August 23, 1953.

Deborah was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. After her children finished high school, Deborah graduated from Vanderbilt University to become a nurse practitioner, serving others for many years.

In recent years, Deborah immensely enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and performances – from basketball and soccer to dance and music to track and cross country and more.

Deborah showed her love by often helping others in their most difficult time. Her adventurous spirit and love for travel was also constant. She always visited family and friends along the way to and from her travels.

Deborah is predeceased by her parents and brother Timothy McCaghren. Deborah is survived by husband Jim Grimenstein; daughter and family: Sarah and Bill Englert with children Simon, Genevieve and Rainer; son and family: Russell and Jean Taber with children Hallie, Seth and Ethan; and siblings: Michael McCaghren, Patrick McCaghren, Molly Seward, and Jeanie Powell. Deborah married Jim in 2017 and is also survived by his children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Melea and Jason Johnson with children Elijah, Isaac and Joshua; Adam and Lisa Grimenstein with children Noah, Drew, Luke and Sam; and Owen and Alison Grimenstein with children Patrick and Darcy.

Deborah’s life was a gift to all she touched and a beacon to the eternal hope in Jesus, where she now abides to welcome her loved ones home and reunite with many.

A memorial service will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Sunday April 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held 1:00-3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission: 639 Lafayette St, Nashville, TN 37203.
