

Doris Campbell Horner- Age 94, of Whites Creek, TN, passed away on Feb. 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Daniel and Elizabeth Carney Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Era E. Horner, Sr. Survivors include daughter, Sara Horner Howard (Bob) of Indianapolis, IN, sons, Era Eugene Horner, Jr., (Kathy), Memphis, TN, James Robert Horner (Terry) of Miami; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She attended Joelton High School where she was an all-star basketball player. Mrs. Horner attended the Nashville Business College and the University of TN, Nashville. She was employed at the Board of Discipleship United Methodist Church for over 25 years. She was a past Matron of Centre Star Chapter #342 Order of the Eastern Star. She served as a pianist & organist at Denton’s Chapel, Alex Green and St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church for a total of 60 years. Mrs. Horner was an active member of Denton’s Chapel. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. immediately prior to the Memorial Service on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Denton’s Chapel, 4550 Dry Fork Road, Whites Creek, TN. A visitation will be held on Monday after the memorial service at Park Manor, 115 Woodmont Blvd., Nashville, TN. Memorial contributions may be made to Denton’s Chapel.
