Ellen Austin Varley

Preceded in death by her parents John D. Coode Jr. and Ellen Mankel Coode, husband William P. Varley, Sr., sisters Margaret Coode Morris and Sister Mary Demetrius Coode R.S.M., brother John D. Coode III, her mother-in-law Margaret Seigenthaler Varley, and her sister-in-law Anna B. Varley.

Survived by sons William P. Varley, Jr. and John A. Varley, daughters Nancy A. Varley (Michael Modic) and Mary Jane Varley (Joan Sherman)., brothers George M., Joseph A, Thomas H., Victor, and C. Michael Coode, sisters Bedelia Coode Brandt and Sister Mary Judith Coode, R.S.M., grandchildren Joseph William Varley Modic, Mary Austin Varley Modic, Bridget M. Varley, William P. Varley III, and Sadie E. Varley. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Mercy Convent, 2629 Pennington Bend Rd. frpm 3:00-7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday April 12, 2014 at Mercy Convent at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons Will Modic, William Varley, godsons Patrick Coode, Sr.., and Timothy Coode, and nephews David Coode and Philip Coode.

Honorary pallbearers will be her five brothers, George M Coode, Thomas H. Coode, Joseph A. Coode, Victor Coode, and C. Michael Coode.

The family wishes to thank Alive Hospice and especially Christy Knox and Karen VanEldik for their devoted care of Mrs. Varley during her illness.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of Mercy and/or The Ladies of Charity
