

A native of Nashville, Yot was born November 7, 1927. He attended Stokes Elementary School, Hillsboro High School and Peabody Demonstration School, and was a member of Delta Sigma fraternity. After serving in the Marine Corps, he attended Peabody College. He had a long successful career working with many Nashville architects, including Steinbaugh Harwood Rogers Architects, Taylor and Crabtree, Yearwood and Johnson, Hart Freeland and Roberts, Henry Bledsoe Architect and Jack Freeman & Associates Architect. Yot was a devoted member of Woodmont Christian Church, where he served as a deacon, was a member of the Challenge Sunday School Class and served on the Property Division for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elliott Turner Williams, Sr. and Margaret Rogers Williams; brothers, Joseph T. Williams, John Meadors Williams, Gwynne Winfred Williams and Lawrence Williams; and sisters, Margaret Williams Bouchard and Betty Williams Evans.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Luckey Williams; son, Elliott Turner Williams III; daughter, Trilby Elliston Williams, MD, of Nashville; nieces, Betty Bouchard McHugh and Margaret (Peggy) Bouchard, and other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, from four o’clock until six o’clock in the afternoon at Woodmont Christian Church, and on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at twelve noon until one o’clock in the afternoon. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at one o’clock in the afternoon at Woodmont Christian Church, with Dr. C. Roy Stauffer officiating. Burial will then follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are Stephen H. McHugh, Everett Davis, Bob Garrard, Joe Taylor, Randy Luther and John Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. John H. Coles, Moulton Farrar and Dr. Robert Quinn.
The family expresses deepest appreciation to Dr. Robert Quinn, Dr. Robert Mangiolardi, Dr. Robert Myers, Dr. Michelle Whittaker and Dr. Denise Yardley for the caring of Yot, and is especially grateful to the wonderful caregivers at Richland Place.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Woodmont Christian Church.
