Fayrene (Lafluer) Lloyd

Fayrene LaFleur Lloyd, of Lebanon, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Dr. John Lloyd, who died on March 26, 2023, and by her parents, Arthur and Georgia LaFleur of Boyne City, MI. She is survived by her four children, Kevin Lloyd (Bonnie) of Floyd, VA, Wendy Hudson (Jim) of Springfield, VA, David Lloyd of Roanoke, VA, and Alan Lloyd of Nashville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Fayrene was born in Boyne City on March 1, 1933. She was a 1951 graduate of Ypsilanti High School in Ypsilanti MI, where she and John met, and attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. John and Fayrene married in 1952. They relocated to Obion County, TN in 1955, then to Donelson in 1964, and to Lebanon in 1993.

Fayrene graduated from Nashville State Technical Institute in 1977. She became a licensed realtor in 1981. She was principal broker with Coldwell Banker Barnes from 1994-2000 and she remained an active agent with CBB until 2017.

Fayrene was a graduate and past president of Leadership Donelson-Hermitage and received their Spirit Award in 2000. She was a former member and past president of Stones River Women’s Club, was active in Toastmasters, and volunteered as a Flying Ace at Nashville International Airport.

Fayrene was keenly intelligent and intellectually curious. A natural leader, she was elected president of nearly every organization with which she became involved. She had high expectations of everyone, especially herself. She was devoted to her family and friends. Because of this devotion, she thoroughly enjoyed her work as a realtor. She wanted to enable her clients, buyers, and sellers, to find homes that were perfectly suited for their families.

Fayrene and John were lifelong partners in love and in life pursuits. They leaned on each other in hard times and rejoiced together in times of celebration. Fayrene was a dynamic, beautiful woman. She was loved and admired and will be remembered.

Visitation will be held at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Tuesday, August 1. Funeral service will be at Pennington Fellowship Church, 2745 Pennington Bend Road in Nashville at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 2, followed by interment at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane in Nashville, at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pennington Fellowship Church (penningtonfellowshipchurch.com) or to a charity of your choice.
