Florine Holt

Florine Patterson Holt passed away at her residence in Nashville on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the age of 106. Mrs. Holt was born in Athens, Alabama on October 10, 1914. She was the youngest of 12 children of Richard and Rebecca Patterson. She enjoyed the outdoors and developed a love for hunting and fishing at an early age that continued into her golden years. She moved to Nashville as a young adult and married (the late) Nicholas P. Holt,Sr. in 1942. After many years of service, she retired from Elm Hill Meats in 1980s. In retirement, she enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. Mrs. Holt was a savvy carpenter and could often be found alongside her husband working on home improvement projects or volunteering at their church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas P. Holt, Sr. and son-in-law, Jerald Sykes. She is survived by three children, Mary Ann Sykes, Nicholas P Holt, Jr. (Renѐ), Richard M. Holt (Deedee); grandchildren, Brian Holt (Jennifer), Keeley Sykes (Dan), Stephanie Rowland (Danny), Michael Holt (Alyson), Dena Beck (Ryan), Thomas Holt (Cathy); great grandchildren, Will Rowland, Sam Holt, Alex Holt, Andrew Rowland; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is a member of Sunset Hills Baptist Church (formerly Radnor Baptist), and was active in The Order of Eastern Star in years past. Rev. Danny Rowland and Rev. Steve Durham presiding. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunset Baptist church and Highpoint Hospice.
