Frances Elaine Moore, October 8,1935 – September 20, 2025. Born to James Tyree and Marcia Frances “Frank” Foren in Nashville, Tennessee. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, including stepfather L.P. Thweatt, Sr., her brother David Edward Foren, and Glen Derrick Moore, her husband of 62 years. She is survived by her three sons and their wives and by 10 grandchildren: Perry (Dawn) and their children Alex and Jacen; Neely (Katy) and their children Elliot, Lincoln, Erica, and Emmaclaire; Paul (Catherine) and their children Stewart, Joseph, Caroline, and Mary Elizabeth. She is also survived by nieces Tina Herndon and Anita Chilton, great-niece Kelli McLamb, and sister-in-law Jeanne Weaver.
Elaine was a graduate of David Lipscomb High School and of Harding College, where she met her husband. They married on August 24, 1957 in Nashville and returned to Nashville in 1958, where they raised their family.
Elaine taught elementary school in Arkansas and Nashville and had the beautiful handwriting of a schoolteacher. Her family has many thoughtfully written notes and cards to remember her by. She was an active member of Crieve Hall Church of Christ for 65 years. She loved her association with the members there and rarely missed a service, watching online since the pandemic.
Elaine was devoted to her family and loved her children and their wives, her grandchildren, and her extended family. Throughout her life, she was blessed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her grandchildren were a source of great pride for her, and she enjoyed all of their activities. She was a virtuous woman and dearly loved by her family. Truly it could be said: “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” (Proverbs 31:28)
Elaine had no sisters but she walked this life with very dear friends who were like family, including Annette, Beverly, Frances, Frankie, and Shirley.
