Gerald “Gerry” Keogh age 96 of Nashville passed away Sunday January 15, 2023. He was a loving husband to wife “Peggy” for 61 years. Gerry and Peggy established their family home in Donelson in 1950. A founding member of Holy Rosary Church, Gerry was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather to his 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Gerry was awarded as an honorary graduate of Father Ryan High School, class of 1945, having enlisted in the Army/11th Airborne Paratrooper Division prior to graduation. He serve d as a Staff Sergeant during the occupation of Japan in WWII. After serving his Country he returned to Nashville and married the love of his life Peggy Byrne. He took pride in his years of employment with L&N Railroad, Western Electric and Metro Nashville Sheriff’s office.
Gerry is predeceased by his wife Peggy, youngest daughter Maureen, grandson Allen, and all of his siblings; sister Mona and brothers Joe (Bubby), Jim Biggy, and twin brother, Tom (Baby).
He is survived by daughters Monica (John) White and Marilyn ( Steve) Biffle; sons Gerry (Nancy) Keogh II and Michael Keogh; and 19 grand and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday January 19th from 4:00 – 8:00PM at the Hibbett and Hailey funeral home 429 Donelson Pike. Rosary will be prayed at 6:00PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM Friday January 20th at Holy Rosary Church. 192 Graylynn Dr. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
