

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Neenan and Helen Baker Neenan of East Bloomfield, NY, and sister, Alice Neenan of Hartford, CT.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; their two sons, Baker and Curran; and canine family member, Lucy.
Gerry is survived by his siblings, Margaret O’Dea (Bill) of Victor, NY, Rita Horn (Chuck) of Westhampton, MA, Bernie Neenan (Theresa Flaim) of Knoxville, TN, Marty Neenan (Joan) of Bloomfield, NY, Tricia Sutherland (Joe) of Cazenovia, NY, Rob Neenan (Debra Deakin) of Sacramento, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gerry was a 1975 graduate of Cornell University and earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1978, where he was named to the Order of the Coif. Originally from East Bloomfield in upstate New York, Gerry adjusted to life in Nashville, Tennessee quite well and could have been mistaken for a native Nashvillian.
Gerry was a member at Neal & Harwell, PLC and had the innate ability to take a complex matter and simplify it in such a way so that a sixth grader could understand it. He was a member of the Nashville Bar Association and a fellow of both the Nashville Bar Foundation and the Tennessee Bar Foundation, and was well-respected by his colleagues.
Gerry represented his clients with passion and a love for the law. His clients became his friends, and. he forged strong, lasting friendships, especially with those at Pfizer and Nashville Electric Service.
He gave his time back to his community and was involved in the philanthropic world. . He was the current President of Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce and an active member in the Nashville Rotary Club. He also served on the Salvation Army board and served as President of the Tennessee Kidney Foundation.
He was an avid outdoorsman and runner and loved supporting his sons’ running pursuits and their cross-country and track teams. One of his favorite hobbies was cooking.
He will be missed by all of those who knew him.
Visitation will be held from six o’ clock in the evening until eight on Thursday, June 9, 2016 and again on Friday, June 10, 2016 from eleven o’ clock in the morning until one at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, followed immediately by a memorial service celebrating his life.
