Grace Emeline Hancock, the beloved matriarch, transitioned into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ, at home, surrounded by her family on 12/19/24. She was born in Waramuri Mission, Northwest District, Guyana, where she served the community as Assistant Deputy Head Teacher at Annai Anglican School, Annai Rupununi. Later, she immigrated to Montclair New Jersey, where she worked in childcare before becoming a Financial Specialist for Proponent FCU, PNC Bank in New Jersey, and then at Kroger, after moving to Hermitage Tennessee in 2010.
Grace is survived by her mother (Princess Virginia), her brothers (Gerard, Anthony, Gregory, Christopher, and Braulino), her sisters (Virginia, Jeannette, Pamela, Lalita, Diane, and Karen), her daughters (Maureen and Marcelle), her grandchildren (Kered, Breon, and spouse Logan, James, Zaire, and spouse Bethany, Amanda, Laedy, Kennedy, and Paula), her great-grandchildren (Maria Victoria, Marjorie, Noah, and Mia Joy), along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Grace was a quick-witted, loving, and devoted woman who cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially during holidays and birthdays. Her greatest joy was sewing, making jewelry, horseback riding, going on scenic road trips, cooking, and communing with her loved ones and friends. She adored listening to "oldies but goodies" and found joy in watching old movies and TV shows Little House on The Prairie and Heartland. She will be remembered for her many wonderful qualities, but especially for her sharp wit, her loving, kind nature, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Grace will have a private cremation followed by a Memorial Celebration at her home at 408 Jameswood Court, Hermitage, TN, 37076 on Saturday, December 28, 2024, between 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of public service, please send memories of Grace or cards to Marcelle Willabus at 408 Jameswood Court, Hermitage, TN, 37076.
