Grantham of Donelson, TN passed away Saturday October 22, 2022 at the age of 74. He was born in Lancaster TN to Gus and Mildred Grantham on November 27, 1947. Grantham served with the United States Army, was a Huey helicopter maintainer, a Cobra gun ship Crew Chief in Viet Nam, and during his tour of duty received several medals including 4 bronze stars. Grantham continued his service as a law enforcement officer, both as a policeman and a Tennessee State Trooper. Later he drove a truck and traveled extensively throughout the United States. Grantham was a skilled tradesman and took pride in his craftsmanship. He enjoyed building and working in construction and worked pouring concrete on bridges all over Middle TN. Grantham was an avid fisherman and hunter, who loved dogs and especially his Johnson American Bulldog Georgia.
Grantham was preceded in death by his parents Gus and Mildred Grantham and a daughter, Greta Lynn Higgins. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 44 years, of Donelson; daughters Tracy Grantham Cantrell, Ft. Worth TX and Paige Grantham, Donelson TN, brother, Shaw Grantham, Watertown, TN , sister Donna Syler, Mt. Juliet, TN grandchildren, Nicole Higgins White and Eric Cantrell and a great-grandson Sammy White.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday October 27, 2022 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home 429 Donelson Pike, Nashville, TN. followed by a celebration of life service at 3:00PM.
