

Totem was born on January 2, 1940 in Nashville, TN, the son of Alvin and Aleyne Henderson Breedlove. His parents; sisters, Brenda Harper and Lois Jacobs; and brothers, Alvin Breedlove, William Breedlove, Harvey Breedlove, Ray Breedlove, Roy Breedlove, Ronald Breedlove, and Donald Breedlove all precede him in death.
Surviving are his children, Ken Breedlove of Gallatin, Tina (Greg) Malham of White House, and Keith Breedlove of Old Hickory; grandchildren, Jessica (Channing) Gillespie of White House, Sara Jean Malham of White House, and Zachary, David, and Gracyn Breedlove all of Old Hickory; one great-grandchild, Hadleigh Kate Gillespie; and siblings, Margaret Harper, Linda Siers, Helen Harper, and Melvin Breedlove.
Totem was a graduate of Cumberland High School where he got the name “Totem”, and he retired from Nashville Electric Service after 40 years as an office dispatcher. UT football, socializing, snacking, joking around, and his black coffee were just a few of Totem’s favorite things.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from four o’clock until six o’clock on Friday, January 22, 2021, and from one o’clock until two o’clock on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be at two o’clock on Saturday, January 23, 2021, and burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
It is requested that anyone that attends the gathering or Celebration of Totem’s Life follow all COVID precautions. Those that are not able to attend can watch the Celebration of Life via the Mount Olivet Funeral and Cemetery Facebook page. The live stream will begin at 2pm or may be viewed online afterwards.
