

Bolster, Irma June Beythan Peterson died July 17 2022, in Nashville, TN. Born May 4, 1928, daughter of J. Edwin and Irma E. Halm Beythan. She is predeceased by her parents, and her brother Carl Beythan. She is also predeceased by her husbands, William Peterson, and Col. Leo Bolster, USAF (Ret). Survivors include brothers Edwin, of Freeland, Michigan, brother Frederick Beythan and sister Lois Gardner, both of Saginaw, Michigan and many loving nieces and nephews.
Irma attended Michigan schools. She and first husband, William (Bill) Peterson, were married July 17, 1948. After graduating from pharmacy school in 1953, Bill and Irma purchased a retail pharmacy in Saginaw, Michigan, renaming it Peterson Drug Company. After Bill passed away in December 1959, Irma continued to operate the drug store for another ten years .In August of 1964, she married Air Force Col. Leo Bolster, who at that time was on active duty at the Pentagon. After Leo attended the Air War College at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL, he was assigned to Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. Two years later,General I. G. Brown offered Leo a position at the Pentagon, and he and Irma lived in the Washington area for over twelve years. They enjoyed years of traveling, playing tennis, attending Vanderbilt football, basketball and baseball games, and other sports activities. Irma performed much volunteer work while living in Dayton, OH, Alexandria and Arlington, VA, Colorado Springs, CO, and Nashville TN, where they made their final home. In Nashville, Irma was a prominent and well- respected Realtor, known affectionately as “Queen of Sugartree,” in recognition of the multitude of homes she sold in that neighborhood.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 11 A.M. at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Irma’s memory be made to the Aerospace Education Foundation (scholarships for outstanding students), 1501 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA 22209, or to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Nashville.
