He is survived by his son, Alan Wayne (June) Hester; daughter, Lisa (George) Bartlett; grandchildren, John Wayne Hester and Kortni (Brian) Businda; one great-grandchild, Cash Businda.
He was a beloved father and grandfather, and faithful member of the Al Menah Shrine where he was founder of the Al Menah Shriners Motor Corps in 1960, chartered and formed with 20 members riding Cushman Eagle Motor Scooters. He served as the first unit captain from 1960-1961.
Jim was the 1st Safety director for Davidson County Sheriff’s Dept. and was also instrumental in forming the School Mothers Patrol.
Serving as pallbearers, Carl Barnes, Terry Posey, Colby Dunn, Terry Price, Mike Price and Brian Businda.
Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by Rev. Jim York on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at eleven thirty, in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall.
Gathering of family and friends, Monday from four o’clock until eight o’clock, and ten in the morning on Tuesday until the service at Woodlawn.
A Masonic Service will be held at Woodlawn on Monday evening at 7:00 PM
