

She was a force of nature sparkling, charismatic, sweet, kind, creative & exemplary friend. She had a passionate nature especially for good and against injustice.
Jeannie had retired from a long career as a senior travel analyst with World Travel BCI/BCD Nashville , TN. She loved her work in corporate travel meeting interesting & celebrated people .
She was an accomplished artist. Her favorite & best selling piece was "Heart Broken Rainy Day", the image of a girl coming out of the dark into the light. In her words, "...when I painted HBRD I was in a dark & painful time...but moving by grace & strength of will into a place of deciding to fight for me, the figure moving one foot in front of the other into the light".
She had great faith. She is in the light.
She was a devoted animal rescue volunteer interviewing potential rescuers & inspecting the homes with monitoring.
Jeannie had a lifelong love of dancing & music. She began ballet at age 3 with Margo Marshall, artistic director, Houston City Ballet. Moving to Oklahoma at 12 took classes through high school with Moscelyn Larkin, of the "5 Moon" native American ballerinas from Oklahoma, and founder of Tulsa Civic Ballet & school. Jeannie was the youngest member performing with Tulsa Jazz Ballet Company.
Jeannie was preceded in passing by her father, Richard E. Culp (Liz) of Corinth, MS & Asheville native, and his twin, her Uncle, Charles Ray Culp, Sr. of Asheville, first cousins Kelly Ann Newton of Swansboro, NC & Charles Ray Culp, Jr. of Mars Hill, NC. & her beloved dachsund, Tootsie Belle.
She is survived by her mother, Kieta Osteen-Cochrane of Asheville, NC, a much loved & protective brother, Richard Michael Culp (Karine) of Boca Raton, FL., a twin sister, JoAnna Lynn Culp Stevens (Michael) of Franklin, TN, Aunts Eva Rector Culp, Dorothy Blanton & Ann Osteen Newton (David) & several beloved first cousins, especially Sydney Lee Kobs (Tracy) of Hockley, TX & Teresa Cochrane Newton George (Oakie) of Tuscumbia, MO.
In lieu of flowers, donations to your local no-kill animal shelter are welcomed.
A memorial service for Jeanette will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 11:00 AM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln., Nashville, TN 37204.
