Jeanne McEwen Suffridge, 71, of Nashville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, surrounded by loving members of her family. She was born to the late Robert Lee Suffridge and Elizabeth McEwen Lichter, Nov. 19, 1942, in Athens, GA. Jeanne graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1960 and attended Middle Tennessee State University.
Jeanne worked for the State of Tennessee until she retired 1990 and was passionate about making a difference in the world. She then started her second career with Healthways until her retirement in 2008. She was proud to be a part of the development and growth that Healthways experienced while she was working there. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement, in which she devoted her time to her family and friends, and her beloved cats (Daisy and Fred). She especially valued the time it allowed her to help and care for others, which she did with dedication and enthusiasm. Jeanne was a member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church, and was very active in the local Democratic Party, as well as at the Green Hills YMCA. She is survived by her loving family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Middle Tennessee YMCA.
